In 2010, the number of foreclosures in San Diego County decreased by 17%.  This was the third highest decrease among the 20 largest metro areas in the U.S.  According to the San Diego Union Tribune, “Out of 206 U.S. metro areas with populations of 200,000 or more, San Diego ranked 37th in foreclosures.”  While this is very encouraging news, experts are saying that, with historically high numbers of distressed properties, the housing market has not completely recovered.  Gary Laturno, a San Diego attorney and real estate broker with experience in foreclosures, believes San Diego had one of the biggest decreases in foreclosure activity because it was one of the first markets to be affected by the housing crisis.
